DOUCETTE, J. Gerald “Jerry” – age 79, Quinan, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital with his family at his side. Born April 11, 1942 in Quinan, he was a son of Élie and Margaret (Saulnier) Doucette. Jerry had worked at Tusket Sales and Service for 53 years as a maintenance worker. He was a jack-of-all-trades who liked to keep busy. He was a member of the Quinan and District Volunteer Fire Department as well as of Le Club des Audacieux, and he was an active member of St. Agnes Church. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Annie May (Doucette) Doucette, as well as by their two sons, James (Krissy) Doucette, Quinan and Steven (Joline) Doucette, Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau, along with his loving grandson, Joël. Also surviving are sisters, Inez (Arthur) LeBlanc, Wedgeport and Laura Frotten, Toronto. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Elmer, George and Paul Doucette. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, with prayers at 8 p.m. at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. (All visitors are asked to please use only the parking lot entrance). A funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, July 21 at 10 a.m. from St. Agnes Catholic Church, Quinan, Father Albéni d’Entremont officiating. In keeping with Covid-19 guidelines, the maximum number of people permitted at the funeral home is 150 and the church is 80, masks are required along with social distancing guidelines. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. It has been requested that there be family flowers only.
