Jenny Steeves of Fawcett Hill passed
away peacefully at the Jordan Lifecare Centre on Saturday, July 10,
2021. Born in Beersville, NB she was the daughter of the
late Joseph and Mary Little.
Jenny took great pride in raising her
five children. Their contentment and happiness are forever her
greatest desire. She loved going upcountry (Beersville) where her
happiest times were spent with her sisters. Their sharing of childhood
memories and celebrating weddings, birthdays, etc. were times of much
laughter and joy. As a child she was Daddy’s girl and shared
many stories of her and Daddy. She was an excellent baker and had a
reputation for her homemade bread. She was a caring mother, a hard
worker, and known for her stubbornness and
kindness.
She is survived by her children, Jean
Kelly of Wolfville, NS, June Tucker (James) of Lutes Mountain, Allan
Kelly (Holly) of Moncton, Carl Kelly (Catherine) of Fawcett Hill, and
Daniel Kelly (Lenora) of Ammon; as well as grandchildren, Jennifer
Trites DeLong (Judson), Christopher Trites (Tami), Jenna Wood (Jay),
Jessica Kelly, Amanda Kelly, and Megan Kelly; great grandchildren
Phelan and Deaglan Trites Delong, Austin Trites, Carson and Dylan
Wood, Jack and Mya O’Blenis; as well as her youngest sister,
Glenna Warren (Weldon) of Beersville.
She was predeceased by her husband,
Frank Steeves of 24 years. Her parents Joseph Boyd and Mary Voila
Little (McCleary), brothers: Roy, Boyd, Murray, and Mack; sisters Ruth
MacIntosh, Anna McDermott (who preferred to be called Ann), Olive
Warren, Mary Little, and Freda Little.
Many thanks to Dr. R. Morton, the
Jordan Lifecare Centre, and McNair Manor for their excellent care and
support to Mom since leaving her beautiful home on Fawcett Hill in
2009.
Jenny’s arrangements have
been entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton
(858-1995). There will be no visiting hours or funeral
service at Jenny’s request. A private family interment will
be held at St. James Presbyterian Cemetery, Beersville, NB, at a later
date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the
donor’s choice.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jenny Jean Steeves 1936 2021..
