Obituary for Jeffrey David Chapman Doyle
May 8, 1980 – February 22, 2021
On Monday, February 22, Jeffrey David Chapman Doyle, B.HKin, beloved partner, son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin died suddenly at the age of 40.
Jeff is survived by his partner, Mamata; parents, Paddy and Joanie; sister, Bri (Glen); and his three nieces, Ava, Liv, and Neve, along with extended family and friends too numerous to name.
He was born on a sunny day, May 8, 1980. Coming into this world with a strong determination to take from life everything he could get. Always challenging himself to attain the highest level of anything that he put his mind to. All who knew him were constantly in awe of and proud of whatever task he was working on.
A natural athlete, playing club, metro, provincial, and university level soccer from the young age of 5, he had a strong desire to push his body. He left everything on the field whenever he competed, fiercely defending his teammates and taking the lessons he took from the beautiful game to heart. The community that he built through soccer supported him for many years. Paddy and Joanie could always be found at the soccer pitch cheering on their son, even when his elite level play days were over, his teammates were ‘their boys’ too.
His passion for fitness and athletics led him to getting his Bachelor of Kinetics from Trinity Western University. After several years of personal training with the general population and elite athletes he opened a gym with a close friend (Caroline) and took his message of health and love of life to all of Vancouver. He often commented on how proud he was of his clients who came to him in a vulnerable state and how honoured he was to be able to support and coach them into meeting their lifestyle goals. He trained hundreds of Vancouver’s personal trainers and inspired them to give back to the community in whatever they did.
His family and friends knew him to be a warm, inviting, passionate, determined young man who loved hanging with his friends and family whenever he could. Like his father, he was a natural born storyteller and was always willing to share a tale or two of his latest adventures. If not in Vancouver he could often be found in the backwoods of BC, disconnecting from the busyness of life with a close friend or two around a campfire.
His friends were his second family. Jeff had a knack for forging deep, lifelong connections with people. Even if years had passed, you were counted as a friend and the door was always open. As a family we extend our sympathies to you all and hope that you will always know we’re here for you and look forward to updates about your lives for many, many years to come.
He wanted to see and try it all. He took multiple trips throughout North America and the world with his closest friends. These trips included Thailand, Ireland, multiple trips to the USA, and most recently a trip of a lifetime to India. He loved meeting people with different cultures and languages. He always was sure to attract attention wherever he went as a tall redhead does.
The last two years he was the happiest that he’d ever been primarily because he met the love of his life in Mamata. They were compatible in every way and he was challenged to become the best version of himself with her in his life. He knew how lucky he was to meet her and reminded us everytime we gathered just how impressed he was by her and how she made him feel safe and loved. Our hearts break for her knowing how great their love was and how brief their time together was.
We wish we were in different times and had the opportunity to hug and sit with each and every one of you. To hear your stories of Jeff would be a balm to our hearts. Please know that we endeavour to meet up once the restrictions are lifted and celebrate him in the way befitting his larger than life self. Until we can be together please feel free to leave us a note here, reach out by phone or social media, connect with each other, carry each other. This would be the greatest legacy for our beloved Jeff.
In Loving Memory
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jeffrey David Chapman Doyle 2021..
