Born September 11, 1966 to Lorne Michael Lawlor and Georgina Mable Wakegiijig at St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver, BC. Jefferey came into this world a greatly beloved son, grandson and older brother to sister Tracy born 2 years and 1 day after him. Jefferey was raised in Keremeos and lived in Toronto before settling into city life In Vancouver where he had many friends and acquaintances from all walks of life. Jefferey was gregarious, a natural charmer and was loved for his gentle spirit and mischievous sense of fun. He enjoyed backcountry hikes and camping in nature, long leisurely walks through the city, live music and travelling. He spent time connecting with relatives in Wikwemikoong, Killarney, and Manitoulin Island (Ontario) as a grandson of Dominic Wakegijig and Mary Louise Farmer.
Jefferey will be greatly missed but always in our hearts.
As you journey through life, choose your destinations well,
but do not hurry there. You will arrive soon enough.
Wander the back roads and forgotten paths, keeping your
destination in your heart like the fixed point of a compass.
Seek out new voices, strange sights and ideas foreign to your own.
Such things are riches for the soul.
And if upon arrival, you find that your destination
is not exactly as you had dreamed, do not be disappointed.
Think of all you would have missed but for the journey there
And know that the true worth of your travels lies not
in where you come to be at journey’s end
But in who you come to be along the way.
