At the age of 95, Jean passed away peacefully with family at her side on October 15, 2021. Born November 25, 1925, she was the daughter of Walter and Gladys Scott. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Ross Wagener, and son, Peter Wagener. Jean is survived by her brother, David Scott and children, Nancy (Chris) Bennett, Douglas, Alan (Marion) and Anne (Peter) Thomas, and grandchildren Sydney, Cameron Jordan and Elizabeth. Throughout her lifetime she was very active in her community and was recognized by the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) in 2019 as one of 100 Notable Women across the country. In addition to holding senior positions in the CFUW, she was the first female president of Banook Canoe Club, president of the IWK Auxiliary and acted on the board of directors for the Dartmouth Heritage Museum. Over the years Jean enjoyed creating and produced many fine works as both a rug hooker and silversmith. She will be dearly missed by her family and large circle of friends. Cremation has taken place.
