Obituary for Jean Rakoczy (nee Fedorovitch)
It is with broken hearts that the family of Jean Rakoczy announce her passing on Monday, December 13th, 2021, in her 91st year.
An incredible mother to Dan (Coleen), John (Rachon), Ted (Valerie), and Peter (Deb). A loving Nana to Mike, Katie, Chris, Paul, Rachel, Jackson and Kendree. Beloved Great Nana to Emma, Logan, Frankie, Mia, and Ava. Dear friend of many.
Jean’s unwavering faith in God gave her guidance and peace. Her sons filled her life with purpose; they were her world. As a mother, Jean was loving, strict, patient, and encouraging. She would accept nothing less than respect, courtesy, and decency from each of her boys.
Jean’s strength and determination were remarkable. She was a hardworking woman who loved to cook, sing, and be with her family and friends. You always knew how Jean felt about you – she wore her heart on her sleeve. She had very strong convictions about how life should be lived and was happy to share them with anyone who would listen. Jean was loyal and protective, and if you crossed one of her boys, she was a force to be reckoned with. She could make you laugh with her witty one-liners when they were least expected.
Jean was loved and generous with her love.
A private family funeral has been held. When it is safe to do so, a larger celebration of Jean’s well-lived life will be held.
