Jean-Paul Côté
It is with the deepest sadness that the family announces the passing of Jean-Paul Côté on October 25, 2021 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Thérèse Côté (née Brunet). Son of the late Albert and the late Lydia (née St-Aubin) Côté. Devoted father of Robert Côté (Louise) of Sudbury, Nicole Bisaillon (late Carol) of Alban, Carmen Goulet (Jean) of Hanmer, Georges Côté (predeceased), Ronald Côté (Donna) of Sudbury, Lise Albert (Claude) of Ottawa, Fernand Côté (Carole) of Chelmsford. Brother of Louis Côté (Cécile) both predeceased of Sturgeon Falls, Fernande Proulx (Lucien) both predeceased of Sudbury, Thérèse Beauparlant (late Roger) of Sturgeon Falls, Marguerite Lalonde (late Hervé) of Sudbury, Jacques Côté (late Paulette) of Val Thérèse, Gérard Côté (Yvonne) both predeceased of Hanmer, Marcel Côté (Patsy) of Val Thérèse, Luc Côté (Pauline) of Verner, Rita Barbe (Ronnie) both predeceased of Barrie. Grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. “JP” a nickname given from his buddies, built his house with his own two hands and lived in Val Thérèse for 65 years raising his family. He was a hard-working miner for 30 years at Inco. His passion was his garden or making sure no leaves were left to disturb the landscaping. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St-Gabriel Villa for watching over him during his stay. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St-Jean de Brébeuf Church, Sudbury. Wearing masks and social distancing will be required.
