Jean Nora Fox 19302021

Jean Nora Fox
1930-2021
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow we mourn the passing of our
mother, Jean Nora Fox of Upper Queensbury, NB on December 17, 2021 at
Carleton Manor. Born on February 19, 1930 at Bear Island, NB, she was
a daughter of the late Balfour and Annie (MacLean) Parent.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Cronkhite (David), Audrey
Cernivz (Mark), Andrew Fox, Martha McGarrigle (Terry) and Melvin Fox
(Sherry); a step-son Earle Cole (Sandra); ten grandchildren Michael
Cronkhite (Amy), Chad Cernivz (Crystal), Joshua Cernivz (Jessica),
Meghan Lepage (Jeremi)), Amanda Fox, Abbie McGarrigle (Keith), Brett
Fox, Shane Fox, Michael Cole and Michelle Cole; eight great
grandchildren, Janine (Josh), Justin, Anna, Chase (Kelsey), Phoebe,
Oscar, James and Theo; three great great grandchildren, Jayde, Bentley
and Hayden; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George
Fox (2002); an infant son David George Fox; a grandson Geoffrey
Douglas Cronkhite; a son-in-law, Barry Cernivz; siblings, Lillian
MacFarlane (Barry), Cora Parent and Douglas Parent; several
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in the Fox family.
Mum devoted her life to caring for her husband and children. While
raising her own family she also cared for members of the Parent and
Fox families. She made sure her children and grandchildren had her
home knit mittens and socks. Warm hands and feet were always a top
concern for her. Mum was a wonderful cook, making delicious meals,
bread and wholesome desserts. Her vegetable gardens and flowers were
a source of great enjoyment and pride for her. It pleased her to have
them admired by family, friends and neighbors.
Before her marriage she had a short career as a teacher and in later
years did some supply teaching. Beginning in the mid seventies she
worked at Kings Landing as a hostess in various houses. She enjoyed
sharing the history of the house with visitors. She and her
co-workers had fond memories of their stories, jokes and time
together.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis
Drive, Nackawic, NB on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 12 noon until 2
