Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce that Jean Iris Hall, age 92, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2021. Jean is now with her Lord and Saviour.
Jean was born in Calgary to parents Ernest and Ivy Marsden on June 25, 1929. She attended Western Canada High School and met her future husband and the love of her life, Laurie (Lawrence) at St. Michaels and All Angels youth group. They were married in April 1950.
Jean is survived by her children: David (Gwen), Don (Colette), Lorraine (Dave); grandchildren Shannon (Andrew), Jason (Liz), Chandra, John, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Johannah, Katie, Sharon, and step-grandchildren Sarah (Donovan), Jake (Jenna), and Sydney (Bithun); great-grandchildren Alexus, Liam, Malcolm, and Lillian. Jean was predeceased by husband Laurie in 1978, infant daughter Diane Rose, brother Ernie, and sisters Doreen and Sylvia.
She was a mother and homemaker, and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the focus of her life. Jean was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind beautiful memories. She was happiest in her home of 64 years and was able to live there until the last month of her life.
While Jean will be missed by many, we are thankful that she is again in the arms of her beloved husband, Lawrence.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Rosedale Hospice for their compassionate and wonderful care provided to Jean.
A Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday December 15 at 1:30 pm at Holy Cross Anglican Church (2828 19th Street NW) in Calgary. Interment to follow at Queens Park Cemetery. Online viewing available on YouTube at address Holy Cross Calgary.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
