Obituary
The loving matriarch of our family, Margaret Jean Ellis, died peacefully on December 20th in Burlington, Ontario.
Jean was born in Montreal, Quebec to Madeline and Clifford Poole. She was a caring sister to Ross, Keith and Beverly who have all predeceased her.
The joys of her long and fulfilling life were greatly enhanced by her loving husband Stephen (deceased) with whom they had three amazing children in Craig (deceased) (Luisa), Scott (Marie) and Dianne (Gary).
Jean cared deeply about the health and wellbeing of her family. Grammy’s love, sage advice and counsel will be deeply missed by all including her grandchildren Jamie (Bill), Tom (Sarah), Stephen (Selina), Scott (Hayley) and Blake. Jean was also blessed with three wonderful great grandchildren – Camden, Willow and Rowan with another little one on the way.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of LaSalle Park Retirement and Burloak Long Term Care for their care and compassion as well as a wide circle of friends and extended family members that have provided additional support, friendship and encouragement over the years.
By Jean’s request a private family service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McMaster Children’s Hospital, Joseph Brant Hospital or the charity of your choice.
