Jean Charlotte Corbett
1923-2021
Corbett, Jean Charlotte (Williams) –
passed away on her 98th birthday, June 17,
2021. Jean was born June 17, 1923, in Calgary, Alberta to the late
Hon. C.C. “Charlie” and Beatrice
Williams. Jean is survived by daughter, Cheryll Bigelow and
husband John, Kingsport; three granddaughters, Dawn (John) Isnor,
Kentville; Christine Popowich, Coldbrook; and Cherisse (Richard)
Yurdiga, Grassland, AB; three great-grandsons, Evan, Ryan and Jacob;
one great-granddaughter, Veronica; sister, Kathleen, Vancouver, BC; as
well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her
parents, husband Howard, sisters, Shirley, Eileen and Norma; and
grandson-in-law, Adam Popowich. Jean grew up in Regina then
after marrying Howard, moved to Ottawa, Halifax and settled in
Kentville. She was the oldest of five girls. Jean was very generous to
her family, she enjoyed playing bridge and 45’s as well as
attending dances. She was a life member of Eastern Star –
Evangeline Chapter #15, and a member of New Horizons Seniors in
Kentville. Throughout her life she volunteered with various charities.
She enjoyed her granddaughters and
great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend
a special thanks of appreciation to all the staff at Wolfville Nursing
Home as well as Dr. Burton. Cremation has taken place. There
will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m.
on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in the White Family Funeral Home, Reverend
Ivan Norton officiating. A video webcast of the service will also be
available at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Elm Grove
Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian
Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada or a charity of your choice. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
