DUNK, Janine Ann – passed away at Trenton Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the of age 56. Janine Dunk, daughter of Sandra Ann Dunk (nee Turney) of Brighton and the late William “Bill” Dunk. Dear sister of Brett Dunk and his wife Alexandra. Best friend of Debbie Martin. Stepmother to Brandy (husband Stephen) and Kelly (wife Joan) and ‘Grandma J’ to Turner and Penny. With a very strong customer service orientation, Janine worked in retail and banking after completing a degree in psychology and a diploma in early childhood education. Janine loved curling and played for 42 years. Over this period, she was an active member of the Brighton, Royal Kingston and St. Vital curling clubs and won many trophies. The family will receive friends at the Brighton Funeral Home, 130 Main Street West, Brighton (613-475-2121), on Friday, October 29th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, October 30th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (bookings required). A private service will be held due to COVID restrictions – for those who wish to watch the service via video, details will be posted closer to the date. Cremation with interment at Salem Cemetery, Salem, Ontario at approximately 2:30 p.m. October 30th. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Municipality of Brighton (Rocks & Rings program, to support school curling) or Quinte Access, in memory of Janine Dunk.
