Janie Dysievick 2021

Janie Dysievick (Allen)
August 29, 1951 – November 27, 2021
With heaviest of hearts and certain regret we share the passing of a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, niece, wife, partner, aunt, mother, grandmother, nanny and friend.
In the mid morning hours of Saturday, November 27, 2021 after a lengthy yet courageous battle with multiple complications, in the peaceful secure comfort of her own home, Janie selflessly gave way and embraced the calling of a new beginning and journey. A journey true to begin reuniting with loving parents Ben and Carol Allen, brother Jack Allen, life partner and friend Gary Robbins, stepson Brian Robbins and so many more. Moving forward with strength, courage and hope and the unforgettable cherished memories.
Early husband and lifelong friend Jerry Dysievick, sons, Trevor (Cindy), Dale (granddaughters Brooklyn, Alexa and Gianna), step daughter Sherri (grandchildren Dawson, Emma & Becky), sisters Chrissy, Geraldine & Jill along with numerous extended family, friends and neighbors.
In earlier years Janie can be remembered at the Mini-Mart serving up breakfasts, coffees and quick-witted comebacks filling the room with joy and laughter to start so many days. As curiosity called time was devoted to travel and tourism, esthetics, Dave Douglas Jewelers, Prince Arthur Hotel and SASI Water, all before her ultimate passion which ironically was to be a ray of light, a glimmer of hope and the reassurance that everything was going to be okay for everyone else in their darkest hours, as part of the sympathetic, loving team at Blakes Funeral Chapel. Janie’s door was always wide open, a fresh pot of coffee, a plate of treats, her quick wit, unique sense of humor and the fact that she chose to leave her filter in her purse could have a deck full of people in an uproar of laughter in no time at all. A fun place to be. Her morals were high, her standards higher. She was honest, compassionate, and generous. Janie could prepare a meal fit for a king…I suppose, being honest, a room full of kings, without a single complaint. A taste second to none.
She had an authentic appreciation for the simple things in life. The sound of a wave meshing with a shoreline under an epic sunset, the flicker of each unique flame of a fire, a freshly turned flower bed or the straightest of lines of a recently mowed lawn could always bring the most soothing comfort.
Janie had a way of turning the smallest of things into larger than life accomplishments and endeavors. Everything was special. She would go the absolute ends of the earth, no detour nor obstacle could stand in her way to help a friend in need, and then somewhere so much further for her family. Like so many, her children and grandchildren were an unmeasurable source of pride, accomplishment and reason for being.
My mother my nanny, my sister my friend. You filled me with joy, strength and courage before you had to go and your every memory will forever replenish. I feel so blessed that you were mine.
With wishes respected, cremation has already taken place and a celebration of life to be held at a later time.
As family and loved ones absorb and embrace a new way of living, share a thought, a memory, and for certain a laugh and cherish today….because tomorrow is on its way.
“I’m on my way, I’ll be right there.”
