Marion “Janice” Brown – 85, Truro, passed away October 1, 2021, in Elk Court, Brookfield.
Born in Springhill on March 11, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Lillian (Clarke) Shields.
Janice was employed for many years as a banker, serving in many capacities. She enjoyed crochet, sewing, and knitting. Her passion was for creating handcrafted period doll costumes, her collection including well over 100 dolls from various time periods. Janice loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah, Truro; son, James (Virginia), Swansea, MA; grandchildren, Jeremy (Treva), Eric (Sue-Anne), Steven, Sarah, Emily; great grandchildren, Ella, Davina and Tyler; sister, Audrey (Steve) Kovach; several nieces and nephews.
Along with her mother, she was predeceased by her husband, Gerald “Brownie” Brown in 2016.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, Truro. Donations in Janice’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.ColchesterCommunity.com
