Suddenly at his residence, on Sunday December 26th, 2021. James Robert Dixie age 72 years, of RR3 Athens. Beloved husband of Joan Dixie (nee Lavier). Step-father of Stephen Holmes and Kimberley Palmer (Cory). Grandfather to Bobby Lawson Jr. (Olya), Brandy Lawson (Graham), Kyle Holmes (Katie), Kayla Holmes and Kurtis Holmes. Great-grandfather of Dominic Lawson, Sophia Cuffe, Graham Burrill Jr., Savana Boyd, Jaxson, Blayke and Madeline Holmes. Predeceased by two brothers, William (Bill) Dixie and Douglas (Doug) Dixie. Survived by a sister-in-law, Donna Dixie, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Kenneth Dixie and the former Bessie Barrington.
A Private Family Service will be held at the Judson Funeral Home Athens, on Thursday December 30th, 2021. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Oak Leaf. In lieu of flowers, donation’s to The Lung Association, S.P.C.A. or the charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
