James Peter Joseph Sweeney Friday July 9th 2021

James Peter Sweeney, born August 4, 1965 in Toronto. It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, father and grandfather on July 9, 2021 at Lindsay’s Ross Memorial Hospital after a very brief and brutal battle with pancreatic cancer. James died with his mother and brother Peter at his side. He will be sadly missed by Irene (Sweeney) Willis, father Jim, stepfather George, brothers Peter, Lee (Irene Mukasa) and Matthew, sister Monique and his beloved children (with Melody) Douglas, Heather and Kyrsten, as well as his aunts, uncles and many cousins. Jimmy was saddened that he will not see his treasured little Aubree, Makenna and Asher grow; he adored them. We appreciate the outpouring of sympathy of his extended family around the globe and the many school friends (Blessed Sacrament, Northern Secondary, Durham College), and all the co-workers he befriended over the years. We are especially thankful to Dr. S-L Francis, Dr. M. Stone and the palliative nurses for their compassionate care, with respect for James’ dignity and family. Our son did not wish a funeral. In lieu of flowers, perhaps a donation to Ross Memorial’s Palliative Unit. Rest in Peace, darling Jimmy. We love you beyond words or world. You are a shining star alongside your Oma, Opa and Uncle Pete (Sauer).
