Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Bluewater Health, James Paisley passed away at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Lynn Paisley (nee Chapman). Loving father of Nicole Somers (Shaun), Jody Barnes (Eddie), and Jason Lucas (Janine). Cherished grandfather of Alaina, Lucas, Preston, Mason, Tyla-Lynn, and William. Dear brother of Elizabeth Martin (Dick) and Nancy Hudson. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents (Alvin and Annie) and his brother Bob Paisley (Leanore). Jim belonged to many horse clubs and organizations. Jim began his long time career of truck driving at the age of 15, driving livestock for his dad. He cherished his transport truck and meticulously cared for it inside and out. He participated in many truck shows and won awards. He loved golfing and looked forward to going to Forest Golf and Country Club. They went above and beyond to make sure he enjoyed his time on the course this summer, in his final rounds. Jim loved and adored his wife, Lynn. He was proud of each and every one of his children. He was the best grandpa 6 grandkids could ask for. The family would like to hugely thank the team of doctors and nurses at both Bayshore, Palliative Care and Bluewater Heath. You all have been so kind and caring for husband, dad and grandpa. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Bluewater Health – Palliative Care (cheques mailed to the funeral home or made online, please).

Lynn, We are so sorry for your loss and to see this notice about Jim. We go back such a long way in the horse world , with Larry and Jim sharing birthdays, and a surprise 40th celebration for them both, and Jim never failed to call us on our anniversary in Nov. as we were married on Friday the 13th and he never forgot. He just messaged me a few weeks ago and I was going to message him today.
So sorry for your loss.Jim was one of the first people to welcome me to Canada way back in the late 80’s.
Sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. We have known him for, growing up in Ilderton, and at recent Truck shows. Treasure all your family memories! He was a great guy!
