James’ Obituary
Quietly at home in his 103rd year, James Merlin Rich passed from this life surrounded by the love of his family on December 9th, 2021. Predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend Flora Dorothy Rich (2009). Cherished father of Leslie Brown and her husband Doug and Ross Rich. Dearly missed by his son-in-law John Cochrane. Pre-deceased by his daughter Dorothy Jane Cochrane. Cherished grandfather of Ruel, Ryan (McCall) and Ashley Brown (Steve) and Jamie (Sabrina) and Donnie (Sheena) Cochrane. Great-grandfather of Callum, Crosby, Clover, Costin, Johnny, Hailey and Crue. Merlin will be dearly missed by extended family and many dear friends.
His faith in the Saviour will be shared in the Memorial Service to be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 181 Myers Road, in Cambridge at some point in January. Service time will be posted on this website as soon as the date is confirmed. In accordance with Merlin’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. In Merlin’s memory, donations made to the CNIB would be appreciated by the family.
