DUNK, James (Jim) Leslie
October 17, 1943 – May 10, 2021
It is with deep sadness that the Dunk family announce the peaceful passing of James Leslie Dunk, born in Belleville on the 17th day of October, 1943. Predeceased by his parents, William and Edna; and two brothers, Bill and John. Lovingly referred to as “Plumb” for his perfectionist ways. He was raised and resided in Brighton, Ontario his entire life, until his passing on the 10th of May 2021 at the Trenton Memorial Hospital. Jim was a very special and powerful force in his family. Always a hard worker, Jim worked at Matthews Conveyor in Port Hope for 38 years. His dedication to the Brighton Fire Department began in 1971 until his retirement after 42 years of long and proud service. Being a volunteer fire fighter was the joy of his life. Jim always looked forward to his Monday night bowling, and spending time with his friends. Beloved husband of Sandra (Sandy) Dunk for over fifty years; loving father to his children Tracy (Brian), Tricia; and Trevor (Stacey), grandfather to Gerrad, Christie, Abigail, Eliot, Dustin (Keesia), Noah and Kaily. Great-grandfather to Willow and Lennox. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and will be remembered always for the great man he was. At the family’s request there will be no visiting or service at this time due to COVID restrictions. Thank you to the TMH doctors, nurses and staff for their thoughtful care. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada, Alzheimer Society of Ontario or the Brighton Fire Department. Arrangements entrusted to the Brighton Funeral Home, 130 Main Street, Brighton (613-475-2121). Memories and stories can be shared at www.rushnellfamilyservices.com
