After a long, courageous battle with cancer, it is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved partner, father, step father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. James (Jim) Francis Kavanagh died in the company of family on Sunday, December 12th, 2021. He was 73 years of age.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories his best friend and partner, Sandra (Sandy) Hickey, son Ryan, daughter Tanya (Michael) Butler, step daughter Robyn (Jan) Hickey, granddaughters Erin and Abbey; sisters Marlene (Rose), Anita (Robert), Claire (Roy), Diane (Eugene); brothers Robert (Theresa); Pat, Paul (Patsy), Richard (Frances), Phil (Philly), Francis, Dennis (Helen). In laws, Gleniss (Paul), Cynthia, Clayton (Phyllis), Wilson (Shelia), Norval. Predeceased by his parents Dennis and Catherine Kavanagh and sister Catherine (Kay). A special mention to life long friends Derek Holwell and Pat Feehan. Also leaving with fond memories a large circle of extended family and friends.
Jim would take any opportunity to catch the ear of a passer by and try to make a personal connection. Skipper Jim loved his date nights watching movies and playing games with Sandra, Robyn and Jan. Holding onto beloved memories of cabin trips with Clayton, Phyllis. Gren, Debbie, Dave and Jean. He was best known for his kindness and positive outlook.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home, 1118 Torbay Road on Wed, Dec 15 2-4 / 7-9pm. Funeral service to take place at St. Francis of Assisi, Outer Cove on Thur, Dec 16 9:30am.
