CHAPPEL, James Ivan “Jim”
(1948 to 2021)
Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Jim at his home in Stoney Creek on Monday, November 22, 2021. Jim was born and raised on the family dairy farm in West Flamborough. A meticulous gardener, his lawns and gardens were admired by everyone. He had a love for vintage fast cars, and tractors which became a collector’s hobby. Weekly car show attendances were a must.
He will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend in life, Elsie, his daughter Lianna (Mike) Butler, and by his grandson Logan Butler. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his brothers Bruce, Jeff (Lyn) and sister-in-law Toni and he is predeceased by his brother Bob and sister Linda. Dear uncle to Jennifer, Michelle, Meggan, and Zachary and loved cousin of Gordon and Neil Forth, Glen Chappel and the Downer, Oudesluys, and Anamaet families. Loved son-in-law of Nellie Jagt, and brother-in-law of Jack, Peter and Francisca and their families. Dear friend of Philip and Darlene Groves and Barry and Sue French. His “fur girls”, Willow and Sage, will be lost without him. Our Dutch cousins, Frans, Tonny, Ronnie, Elna and Ton will miss his weekly Messenger calls.
Jim was a retired General Foreman from Stelco after 35 years of service.
Friends may visit with the family at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 1 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 3 p.m., Rev.
