Obituary
Harold went home to the arms of His Heavenly Father on August 22, 2021. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Harold will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years, Colleen, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Debbie (Luke (Christian, Henry Harold), Jenny) Laura & Rodger (Jason & Sarah (Lincoln), Nicole (Hollie), Jim & Carrie (Chris & Elizabeth, Nathan & Alisha, Michelle) Louise, Nancy & Ken (Jeff, Naomi), Michael (Makenna) Michelle, Chantale & Terry (Matthew, Zachary), Robert, Johnathan & Aisah, numerous nieces and nephews.
Harold was born in High River, and grew up in a musical family in Arrowood with his siblings, Ken, Margaret and Marian, where his Dad was the CPR Agent. He attended Grade 12 at St. Mary’s and formed a Jazz band where he played many events before choosing a career with Imperial Oil.
He was a successful, dedicated businessman who valued both his employees and customers. He operated Prospect & Oakmoor Esso from 1956 – 1991. Harold was active in the Calgary Cursillo movement where he made and enjoyed many longtime friends. He loved his family and had many hobbies curling, gardening, singing, golfing and traveling.
He was predeceased by Kathy, his first wife of 33 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to prayers at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 24 Street SW) on Tuesday August 31, 2021 at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 11:00am.
