Whidden, James “Jimmy” Gregory – Age 69, Salmon River. We regretfully announce the peaceful passing of Jimmy Whidden in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on June 3, 2021. He was born in Truro to Frank and the late Jean Whidden (Taylor).
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Donna (McCallum); daughter, Amanda Whidden (Steve Tomlinson), Minasville; sons, Trevor MacKay (Kelley Archibald), Manganese Mines and Jeffrey Whidden (Suzanne), Truro; granddaughters, Taylor and Kori MacKay; sister, Darlene Whidden; brothers-in-law, Tommy McCallum, (Sue), Steven McCallum both of Ontario, Gardiner McCallum and Bernard McCallum (Joanne) both of Truro; sisters-in-law, Bonnie MacSwain (Mike), Bible Hill and Sherry McCallum (Robin Clark), Salmon River as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his brother, Frankie Whidden.
Jimmy worked at William A. Flemmings – later known as Clarence Farm Supplies, for 35 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and many close friends. Always the life of the party – Jimmy loved to dance! He was a Jack of all trades, master of none. His door was always open and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Jimmy’s family would like to extend their appreciation for all of the support from family and friends as well as the staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and the Colchester East Hants Health Centre.
Donations in Jimmy’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia.
