James Everett Wylie
Passed away very peacefully in the early hours of June 29, 2021 with his loving wife Paola by his side in his 68th year. James predeceased by his parents Everett and Irma Wylie and his sister Stella McLelland. He is missed by his children Jeremy and Laurel Wylie, and his brother Christopher Wylie (Josie) and loved by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be greatly missed by his fur babies whom he rescued and loved.
James was born in Prince Edward Island and moved to Toronto with his family as a young boy. As a child he developed a life-long passion for fishing. He and his father would rise very early in the morning and spend the day by the water where James frequently out-fished his Dad.
James excelled at anything he put his hand to – dirt bike racing, wood working, renovating a home, truck driving, fishing, and farming. He expressed himself through his craftsmanship, fishing, his way of connecting with people, and his love of animals.
James loved his home in the City of Kawartha Lakes. He felt so welcome and at home here – he loved being with people at farm implement auctions, with his fishing buddies, his poker friends, with the people at the local Christmas craft sale, with the people for whom he built farm fences, and everyone he met in between. He loved being at home on our farm. The family would like to thank the palliative care team who helped us care for James at home. To honour James please enjoy your life, be yourself, laugh, take time to relax, and hold close those whom you love.
There will be a time of visitation at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on July 15, 2021 from 3:00-4:30 pm with a private family service to follow. Due to current restrictions, numbers are limited. To attend the visitation for James, you must RSVP through the link below.
