James Allan Max Maxwell 19572020

James Allan “Max” Maxwell
1957-2020
James Allan
“Max” Maxwell – passed away March 5, 2020 at the age of 62.
He lived all his life in Kentville, attended KCA and later Kings

Max was a great baseball player in his youth, played
football, hockey and later slow pitch. His passions included the NY
Yankees, Pittsburgh Steelers, fly fishing, cottage life with family
and any kind of music-his favourite being John Prine. His sense of
humour was fantastic and he was very quick with a one liner and a huge
smile. Max’s kindness and huge heart was unmatched. Max was
past president and long-time member of the Kings County Commercial
Travellers Association and the Billiards Club. He served for many
years on the organizing committee for the Labour Day Oland Slow Pitch
Tournament. He worked in Kentville at the local bars for a number of
years, then at ACA Co-op, later Eden Valley Poultry where he recently
retired after 30 + years.
Max was predeceased by his parents, Shirley and Ronald
Maxwell; in-laws, Mary and Don MacKenzie; son-in-law, Colin MacAskill;
nephews, Sean Kinsman and Jeff Cogswell. He is survived by his current
partner, Cheryl Rogers, Kentville; his daughter, Jenna MacAskill (Ryan
Foster); son, Donnie Maxwell, both of Edmonton, Alberta; their mother,
Jane Maxwell of Kentville; grandson, Waylon James Maxwell, Kamloops
BC; sister, Barb Farmer (David), Lower Sackville; brother, Bob
(Joanne), Glenmont; in-laws, Bonnie MacKenzie and Beth MacPherson,
Riverview NB; Carol (Phil) Kinsman, Berwick; Alison Gould, Kentville;
Jim (Ruby) MacKenzie, Kentville; many nieces and nephews and of course
his dog, Buddy.
A memorial service will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May
27, 2020 in the Crossed Keys Room at the King’s Arm Pub, Kentville. In
lieu of flowers please consider doing a random act of kindness for
someone who may be in need of a hand. Donations in memory would be
