Obituary of Jacob Van Elswyk
Peacefully, in his 92nd year, Jacob went home to Jesus on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener.
Jacob is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Nel (nee Hoogendoorn) Van Elswyk, son Jim Van Elswyk and his wife Karen, grandsons Andrew and David, brother John Van Elswyk (Jessie), sisters Anne Duivestyn (Brian), Marianne Koudys (Bill), Willie Radinovic (Don), and brother-in-law Tony Curic.
Predeceased by his parents Peter and Jeanettje Van Elswyk, brother Kees Van Elswyk (Hennie), and sisters Marie Hoogendoorn (Joop) and Margaret Curic.
Jacob was a member of Community Christian Reformed Church in Kitchener and a longtime employee of Martin Feed Mill in Elmira.
Visitation will be held at Community Christian Reformed Church, 1275 Bleams Road, Kitchener, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. A memorial service to honour Jacob’s life and faith will be held at Community Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. To attend the visitation and/or memorial service, please wear a face mask and observe physical distancing. A private family committal service and interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau, will take place prior to the memorial service.
