Obituary
It is with saddened hearts that the family of Jack Anderson announces his passing, peacefully on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at the Athabasca Healthcare Centre at the age of 81 years.
He was born on July 19th, 1940 in Edmonton, Alberta where he grew up and went to school. Jack worked for years as an industrial electrician for Bennett & Emmett and then worked with his mom in her fish business for years after. They were known all over Edmonton for their exotic fish and elaborate tanks that Jack built. Many tanks could be found in restaurants, banks, and businesses all over Edmonton.
On October 9th, 1965 Jack married Lillian Fischer. The birth of their daughter Tanis brightened their lives the next year completing their little family.
Jack truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: a daily drive, stopping in at friends or the colony, spending endless hours in his garage with his guns, or just painting a picture, mural, or camouflaging one of his guns.
Sadly, Jack’s heart was broken with the passing of Tanis and his grandson Thomas in April of 2019. He was also predeceased by his parents and his only brother, Billy.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Lil; son-in-law Joe Pike; granddaughter Amber; his three brother-in-laws: Albert (Cauline), Gordon (Corina), Don (Phyllis); and many nieces and nephews.
Jack’s legacy he leaves behind is his love for nature, guns, fishing, and painting. He had a love for knowledge and the time he shared teaching his nieces and nephews (and anyone that wanted to listen) how to hunt, fish, watch birds, paint, build, fix something, or just have them sit and watch a hockey game with him.
Jack – of – all – trades.
Jack Anderson, Rest In Peace now.
A Service will be held Monday, November 15th, 2021 at 1:00pm at the
Athabasca Community Chapel with burial to follow.
Please be mindful of Covid-19 restrictions.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jack Richard Anderson July 19 1940 November 6 2021 (age 81)..
