Jack Mercer 1927 2021

Jack E. Mercer, 94, of New
Scotland, NB and formerly of Oshawa, ON, passed away peacefully at his
residence on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Bornin Oshawa, ON, he was the
son of the late Walter and Daisy Mercer.
Jack worked alongside his father
in Oshawa in the family business, Mercer Construction before taking
the business over and continuing the family legacy. He was a dedicated
and faithful member of Trinity Pentecostal Church where he served the
church in various capacities over the years. He enjoyed golf, curling
and later in life took an interest in
gardening.
He will be sadly missed by his
children, Sylvia Bannock (Oleg), Marianne Cook (David), Mark Mercer
(Mary), Stephen Mercer (Lex) and John Mercer (Debra); grandchildren,
Shannon, Ryan, Brandon, Jessica, Jeremy, Dominique, Brian, Joseph,
Heather, Amber and Tyler; as well as several great grandchildren and
extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Jack
was predeceased by his wife, Marie Mercer (nee Shewchuk); grandson,
Daniel; sister, Joan MacDougall; and brother, Roy
Mercer.
In keeping with Jack’s
wishes there will be no visitation hours or funeral service. Interment
will take place alongside his wife in Mount Lawn Cemetery, Oshawa,
ON.
