May 10th, 1942 – December 1st, 2021
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 1st, 2021 at home, in Chapleau, surrounded by his family at the age of 79.
Dear husband of Late Carol Byce (Woods) (2021). Loving father of Gordon Woods (Isabelle), Henry Byce (Taralee), Darren Byce, Damon Byce and Chad Byce (Donna). Beloved Poppa of numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sisters Claira Vaillancourt, Sheila Demers, and Linda Black, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Henry and Amanda (Kohls) Byce, and by his siblings James Byce, Diane Desbiens, Wyona Byce, Fern (Dee Dee) Byce, John Byce, Henry Byce, and Cheryl Shchepanek.
Jack was always willing to help his children with their renovation projects. He enjoyed spending time at the camp.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Saari, the homecare nurses and the HELHIN Home and Community Care as well as the Chapleau Health Team for their excellent care.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Remembrance donations to the St. John’s Anglican Church or to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5 (cheques payable to Harry Searle Branch 5 R.C.L.) would be greatly appreciated.
