Ivan Edmund Logie, of Hanover, passed away quietly at his residence in Valleyview on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in his 84th year.
Born on April 3, 1938 in Bentinck Twp, Ontario. Adopted by the late Edmund and Eleanore (nee Rehkopf) Logie. Many people will remember Ivan from his long career spent working at Buckeye Peerless in Hanover for over 50 years. Ivan was always quick with a joke and was happiest talking about history. Ivan was married to the love of his life, Diane, for over 57 years, and enjoyed raising their family – he was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His support and guidance will be sadly missed by us all.
Loving Father of Vivian Bott of Vita, Manitoba, Valerie Caskanette (Mike Braunstein) of Cargill, Grant Logie (Cindy) of Hanover, and Penny Frook (Dave Wardrop) of Dyers Bay. Dearly missed by grandchildren Corey, Jessica , Kaitlin (Darcy), Jennifer (Peter), Brandon (Felicia), Renee (Steve), Brooke, Garrett, Sydney (Kyle), Darcy (Wesley), and great grandchildren Leanna, Brooklyn, Jacquie, Garrett, Wesley, Shyann, Mackenzie, Rowan, Carter, Hudson and Olivia. Fondly remembered by sister Audrey Walper, and step sisters Shirley, Erma, and Gladys. Predeceased by his wife Diane, and son in-law John Bott.
A public visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Sunday, December 12th, 2021, from 3-5 pm. A private family funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Brant, on Monday, December 13th, 2021 at 11 am. Rev. Hannes Aasa officiating. For those unable to attend, the funeral service will be recorded, and posted for viewing on the funeral home website in the days following the service. Interment in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Brant Township.
