Obituary of Isaac John Giesbrecht
Giesbrecht, Isaac John – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather. He went to be with the Lord on Thursday February 4, 2021.
Ike is predeceased by his parents Jacob & Mary Giesbrecht a brother, William (Bill) Giesbrecht, a sister, Helen Hamm, two siblings as infants, and one brother-in-law, Bill Enns. Mourning his loss is his wife of 53 years, Judy (Hiebert), sons Chris (Teri-lin) and Ken (Shelley), 4 grandchildren, Michael (Savannah), Kimmie (Dylan), Ashley (Nick), and Josh, six sisters, Kathy (John), Betty, Agnes (Miles), Erma (Peter), Elma (Rick), Ella (Darrel) and two brothers, Jake (Mary), Neil .
Ike was born March 13, 1944 at home in Haskett Manitoba. His greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his family and travelling with Judy. Of all the adventures he experienced, he loved Hawaii the most. The annual Father’s Day fishing trip with his sons and assorted grandkids was something he looked forward to every year. Many trips were made to Manitoba to visit family over the years.
He spent most of his working years in the construction industry, mostly building new homes. The last few working years were spent in apartment building maintenance. But he enjoyed retirement the most.
Much thanks to the wonderful staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital wing 3A and ICU. They gave him the best of care.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation.
He was a wonderful, amazing man that will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Smile and Wave!
