August 1 1934 – August 10 2021
Irene Haymes (née Brennan) passed away peacefully at Northland Pointe surrounded by her family on August 10, 2021 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of Keith, of 68 years, loving mother of the late daughter Linda (Dennis) Martel, Robert (Brenda) and Connie (Bill) Szigeti. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, Dean, Garrett (Tracy), Ryan (Terri), Morgan, Leslie (Trevor), Sheena (Dustin), BJ (Jessica), 12 great grandchildren and her sister Darlene (Chester) Airhardt as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Gladys and Harold Brennan, her brother William Brennan and her sister Norma Weaver. Irene was a homemaker whose greatest joy was loving and providing for her family in any way she could. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed volunteering on church committees, Northland Manor Tuck Shop, Meals on Wheels and helping the elderly in the community. A special thank you to Dr. Emily Wilson and all the frontline staff at Northland Pointe for providing excellent care and compassion during her short stay. Cremation has taken place. A private funeral service will be held at a later date with interment at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements entrusted to the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. Online guest register and condolences are available at www.davidsonfuneralhome.com
