Dawson, Inger Johanne
It is with deep sadness that the family of Inger Joanne Dawson announce her passing in hospital on Friday, September 3, 2021, age 76 years. Beloved wife of Gerry Dawson. Dear mother of Karin Cameron and Ann-Marie Petr (Tom). Loving grandmother of Lachlan, Blaine, Daniel and Matthew. Sister of Elsa Andersen and predeceased by her brother Ernst Amundsen.
Inger was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, whose kindness, beautiful smile, and contagious laugh will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Family and friendship were of great importance to Inger and she never forgot a face, a name, a birthday, or anniversary!
Over the years, you would often find Inger at the rink with her daughters where players and parents alike have memories of her cheering and supporting all the local players and teams; she is remembered as a “mom” by many of her daughters’ friends!
In retirement, Inger enjoyed travel with her husband, Gerry, and they shared many wonderful memories of their adventures across the US and especially of their month-long trip Europe! Inger also loved to travel home, to Norway, to visit her family with whom she remained close despite the distance between them.
To celebrate Inger’s life, a private family service will be held at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
