Inez Dekker
Inez Mary Dekker (Née Bolger) on October 7, 2021, aged 69, of Carleton Place, Ontario.
Inez was raised in Rockport, Ontario, with time spent in Alberta and Eastern Ontario. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Fred Dekker, and her children, Anna (Ian Dawe) and Adam. She is predeceased by her brother Frank (Margaret). Surviving siblings are Jack (Nellie), Bernard (Theresa), Bob (Irma), Helen (Peter)Kurman, Barb (George, deceased) Ogoniek, and Margaret (David)Boyle.
Inez attended Queen’s University where she received a Bachelor of Arts as well as a Masters in Behavioural Psychology. She taught at both Athabasca and Carleton Universities and retired recently from a career with the Department of National Defense as a research scientist. Friends and family knew Inez as a smart, funny and highly talented person. Her great loves were slam poetry, dancing, jewelry making, photography, sewing, gardening and spending time with friends and family.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, October 23rd at 1:30pm at Tompinks Funeral Home in Gananoque. Please be advised that space is limited due to COVID restrictions, masks must be worn indoors and the family requests that only those who are fully vaccinated attend.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Canadian Blood Services or the Canadian Cancer Society.
