Obituary of Ilene Holt
Holt, Ilene Evelyn
It is with great sadness that the family of Ilene Holt (McDonald) announce her peaceful passing with family by her side on Sunday, August 8th in her 98th year. Ilene is predeceased by her first love Edward (Ted) Holt whom she shared a life with for many years. Loving mother of Richard Steinhoff (predeceased), Wayne Steinhoff, Larry Steinhoff (predeceased), April Kendra, and Sharon Forrester. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted caretaker and daughter April. She was the most special and loving grandmother to: Anne (Michael), Denise (Lee), Brent, Leah, Ricky, Robert (Jessica), John and their loving children. Ilene was born to the late Allan and Lilly McDonald and predeceased by siblings Raymond and Jeanette. A very special GG to Emma, Amelia, Rohgan, Callan, and Sohran. Ilene was a devoted and active member of the Forest Home United Church in Orillia. She spent her working life at the Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit before enjoying retirement. Ilene had a passion for art, crafts, traveling and boating for which she was the first woman Power Squadron Commander in Orillia. She had a deep love for Orillia and one of her favorite pastimes was enjoying an ice cream at Couchiching Park where she shared many stories with her family and friends. At Ilene’s request, no service will be held. The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Tillmann, the staff at Simcoe Funeral Home, and attending Nurse Lynn from Bayshore Nursing for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Forest Home United Church.
