Ida was predeceased by her husband Ed; her parents Paul and Martha Wilde; her brothers Reynold and Daniel; sisters Erna and Wanda.
She is survived by her son Gary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In her early years in the Lavesta area, Ida lost her Mother due to Influenza. She then took on the role of helping and caring for her siblings. Later on after settling in Wetaskiwin, she worked at Ray’s Tomboy grocery store, co-managed the IGA grocery store in Wetaskiwin, as well as worked along side her husband Ed, doing bookkeeping, sales and administrative work for the United Feeds Elevator until her retirement.
Ida enjoyed sports, such as volleyball, curling, fishing and golf, she also enjoyed travelling and spending time with friends. She had a big heart and was always supportive of family and friends, especially in rough times or their time of need. Ida had a love for animals and especially pets: Ellie, Scruffy and Li’l Blackie.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
As per Ida’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be an inurnment at a later date.
Memorial donations in Ida’s memory are gratefully accepted and can be made to the animal shelter at the Wetaskiwin Animal Clinic or to Grace Lutheran Church in Wetaskiwin.
