Hunter’s Obituary
Gordon, Hunter Stanley – 85, passed away November 29th, 2021, three days before his 86th birthday. Born in Black River, he was a son of the late Clarence and Margaret (Hunter) Gordon. Hunter was a well known and well liked member of his community. He was a hard worker and enjoyed working with his family in the blueberry and lumber business. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Helena Mattinson; sister, Carol Matheson; sons, Steven; Dwayne (Shelley); stepdaughters, Lisa (Jimmy) Ferdinand; Cindy Sutherland; Helen (Allison) Ellis; grandchildren, Bradley (Kendra); Gregory (Sue); Jillian, Jennifer (Jared) and Tyler; great-grandchild, Opal; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Ivan; brother, Steel. He passed away peacefully at home after a normal day of roaming Black River and going to visit lifelong friend, Bruce Moss. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Oxford. A private family funeral service is being held. A public graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery in the spring.
