Hubert’s Obituary
Hubert was born in Hotchkiss, AB on June 9, 1935 to Roy and Bonnie Vandemark, a little brother to his sister Mavis. Another sister, Pat, was born a few years later. Hubert would share fond memories of riding his horse to school.
As a very hard worker, Hubert wasn’t afraid to tackle any job. He received his Heavy Duty Mechanic and Welder licenses, operated graders and cats, worked at a sawmill, transported houses, installed water and sewer systems, bought and sold equipment, operated a couple gas stations and even tried gold mining. A curious man, he enjoyed tearing things apart to see how they worked.
Hubert married his loving wife, Lynne Asmussen on Dec. 12, 1956 and later three children completed his family. Calvin was born in 1958, Wayne (1959) and Bev in 1963.
Hubert was a family man who looked forward to spending anytime with his grandchildren. He was an honest man, true to his word and very humble.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lynne of 64 years, children Calvin (Tracie), Wayne (Judy) and Bev (Doug), 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He will be lovingly missed by his family and friends.
