HORNE Yvonne Viola November 26 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Yvonne Viola Horne, announces her passing on November 26, 2021 at the age of 92. Born in Looma, Alberta to Helen & Albert Wensel.
Evie (as she was fondly known) will be sadly missed by her nieces: Judith Hummel, Linda Wensel Pierce, and her nephews: David Wensel and Douglas Wensel, along with extended family and longtime friends. Evie was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Allan Horne, in 2014.
Evie had a life-long love of professional baseball and was an especially big fan of The Blue Jays. She also loved to travel, with a favourite destination being Vegas or Jackpot in Nevada, hitting the casino and slot machines. Evie & Allan spent many memorable summers at their cabin at Upper Mann Lake (St. Paul), where family and friends would often visit.
Following cremation, a Celebration of Evie’s Life will be held at Serenity Funeral Service, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Ave., Friday, Dec. 3rd @ 2 p.m.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Doctors and staff at Capital Care Norwood for their outstanding kindness and support during her stay there. Also many thanks to the caring staff at St. Andrew’s Centre, where Yvonne had resided since 2017.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Evie’s memory can be made to The Mustard Seed or The Christmas Bureau.
