Horace Taylor Sunday November 28th 2021

Taylor, Horace:
Passed over on November 28, 2021, at the age of 100. Horace died peacefully with his beloved family at his side. Horace was born in Stratford upon Avon, England, on May 21, 1921, to John and Maude Taylor. He was the youngest of two children. Horace was known as a scholar from a young age. You could always find him nose deep in his studies. As a young man, he aspired to work in the medical field. While studying away at college, Horace was called by her Majesty the Queen to serve with the British Military during World War II. He was honoured to serve for the Queen from 1939 – 1948 – Private Taylor – KSLI Signaler.
While stationed in Italy, he met Maria, his soon-to-be wife and soul mate of 43 years. Three children were lucky to call him Dad; Giovanni, Josephine and Maria Christina. Three grandchildren: Jennifer, Giovanni and Martina and five great-grandchildren; Braden, Zachary, Marissa, Daxton and Steele-Bleu.
Horace worked at a few hospitals in his career, including Grand River Hospital. Upon retiring, Horace was the Chief of Respiratory Technology at Metropolitan General Hospital in Windsor, Ontario.
Horace was a divine soul. After retiring, Horace devoted a great deal of his time to serving the Lord wherever he could – helping with children programs at the church, organizing Sunday Mass at the senior home, helping the homeless find shelter and employment opportunities for people just released from prison. His help was felt in the Kitchener area and straight across the ocean to England. Horace was a man of great spirit, loving husband, caring father, proud grandpa, and a happy great-grandpa. His presence will be dearly missed.
A Funeral Mass for Horace will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 148 Madison Ave S, Kitchener. Entombment at Woodland Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph’s RC Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
