Hilda’s Obituary
Hilda May Lewis (nee Jones) of Baytona, NL passed suddenly but peacefully away at the North Haven Manor Clinic, Lewisporte, NL at the age of 87.
Hilda was pre-deceased by her parents, Mary and William Jones, and her grandson, Jamie.
Left to mourn is her beloved husband of almost 66 years, Cecil Lewis; their children, Brian (Maxine) Lewis, Dale (Andy) Baggs, Myra (Matt) Lannon, and Lisa Lewis; her sister, Pearl Eveleigh and brother, George Jones; her grandchildren, Cheryl, Kara, Melissa, and Mitchell; her great-grandchildren, Cam, Noah and Duke; and a circle of extended family and friends.
Born in Millertown, NL she moved to Baytona, NL at an early age, and remained there for eight decades. She has been residing at Lewisporte Pleasantview Manor with her husband, Cecil since 2014. She enjoyed a long career as her community’s Postmaster for 35 years, learned to be an exquisite needle worker, and surely knit a billion double ball mitts. She loved her family fiercely and she will be dearly missed.
The visitation will take place at Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte, NL for immediate family only. There will be a private funeral and burial that will take place at the St John Anglican Church in Baytona, NL as per Covid-19 guidelines.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL.
