Herbert Anthony “Tony” McGhee – age 56, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021. Tony was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He loved spending time with his family, especially at a family cabin at Big Pine. Tony was fun-loving, never met a stranger, and was always ready with a joke or a story to brighten someone’s day. He had a big heart and helped a lot of people throughout his life. Tony was a retired police investigator from the Northport, Alabama police department where he proudly served for 25 years.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Clyde McGhee; and grandparents, Sergeant Herbert and “Grannie” Bertha Cole, and Howard and Rhoda McGhee.
He is survived by son, Justin (Natalee) McGhee; and grandchildren, Madalyn, Olivia, Harbor, and Stella. He is also survived by his mother, Brenda; sister, Angie; brothers, Todd (Sylvia) and Tim (Amy) McGhee; special friend, Linda Inman; and was “Uncle Bear” to a bunch of nieces and nephews. Tony will be missed by the love of his life, his dog Bandit. Tony was some count!
A Call-of-Convenience will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Bridges Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 PM Wednesday at Cumberland View Cemetery in Jacksboro, TN for a 2:00 PM graveside service with Rev. David McGill officiating.
