Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of Henry David Walker, announces his passing which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on December 14, 2021. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick he was the son of the late James and Ida (Hickey) Walker.
Henry was a devout Christian, devoted to his faith and a long-time member of St. Ann’s Parish. In his earlier years, spent 43 years working at the Atlantic Sugar Refinery. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.
He will always be remembered by his wife, Stella (Bastarache), sons Henry (Marilyn), Leonard, David (Jane); daughter Cathy (Joe) Gould; step-daughters Karen (Joe) Cummings, Trish (Jim) Irvine, Janet (Dave) Howe, Rose Marie (Richard) Mailman; son-in-law Tom Ramsey; grandchildren Dawn, Henry (Sandy), Meghan, Cindy, April, Howie (Sharleen), Jennifer (Paul), Cathy-Jo, David, Mary Catherine, Corinne (Jason), Doug (Angela), Andrew (Tonya), Theresia, Emily, Eliot (Liz), Christine, Maggie, Jessica, Ashley (Scott), Will (Stephanie), Dustin (Danielle), Corey, Keeley (Mark), Amie (Kevin), Taylor (Fallon), 49 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
Henry and Stella were very adventurous, they would begin on the road, and they went wherever the road led them. Henry and Stella looked forward to ‘Jam Nights’, where they would sing and dance at various locations throughout Saint John. He was known for his kindness and generosity and cherished his family more than anything. Henry will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Florence Landry, second wife Gloria Cheverie, daughter Cathy Ramsey and brothers Daniel, Frank, Doug, Ira and Raymond.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). A private family funeral liturgy will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
