Helen Frances Dries Cree 2021

Born on August 4, 1948, passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2021. Beloved wife of David Cree. Loving daughter of the late Henry and Rose Dries, daughter-in-law of the late Holt and Mary Jane Cree and sister-in-law of Mary Anne Cree. Dear sister of the late Charles Dries (survived by wife Sandy), late Joseph Dries (late Terry), JoAnne Sullivan (Ron), Elaine Dillon (Dan), Raymond Dries, Edward Dries (Elizabeth). Cherished aunt and mentor to 19 nieces and nephews who she loved as if they were her own children.
Helen graduated as a registered nurse from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chatham in 1968. She had a distinguished career in medicine, mostly in the Detroit, MI area. Her positions included manager of 3 kidney dialysis clinics, research manager of the HIV/AIDS program at the Detroit Medical Centre, and research manager of the cardiac care program at Beaumont Hospital.
Helen was a truly gifted and wonderful person who was loved by and devoted to the many people she worked with over the years, her large family and a terrific group of friends.
Special thanks to the excellent staff at WRH-Met Campus and the VON-Home Hospice Program who made her last days as comfortable as possible.
Memorial donations to the MS Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
