Helen Eileen SCHLOTZHAUER Christie 2021

SCHLOTZHAUER: Helen Eileen (nee Christie) – passed peacefully surrounded by her family on February 11, 2021 at the Maples Home for Seniors, Tavistock after a very brief illness.
Helen was born January 4, 1937 in Matachewan, Ontario to Wilma Eileen and George Arthur Christie. Being raised in northern Ontario, Helen developed a love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, sports and gardening. However her true passion was family, cooking and feeding others.
Helen is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ross Daniel Schlotzhauer, whom she married May 26, 1961 in Matachewan, Ontario. Helen will be greatly missed by her daughter, Vikki Mogk (Bill) and son, Ted (Joanne). Helen is leaving behind six wonderful grandchildren, Caitlin, Jake (Cate), Matt (Maddy), Tessa (Craig), Bridget (Stephen) and Wade (Marley) who all will sadly miss their Gramma. Helen is also predeceased by her only sibling, Joan Gavin and will be sadly missed by her niece, Debbie DiGiulio.
A family visitation to celebrate Helen’s life has been held in the Francis Funeral Home Tavistock. Helen will be laid to rest at a future date in St. Matthews Lutheran Cemetery Tavistock.
The family will be forever grateful to the Maples staff for their tireless care, endless kindness and love extended to both Helen and Ross. In lieu of flowers, Helen would be honoured if donations were made to the “Maples Resident’s Council” through the Francis Funeral Home by calling 519-655-2431.
