Heather Maltby 2021

It is with tremendous sadness that we the family, announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, Mrs. Heather Maltby of Whelton Dr., Bathurst, which occurred Tuesday January 26, 2021 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. She was a ray of sunshine to all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her husband Kenny, parents Hud & Lillian (Mahoney) MacKinnon and her little sister Wanda.
Left to cherish her memories are her son Doug, who ensured she could stay at home as long as she did, and her daughter Cathy Dunfield (Peter) of Victoria, BC; two grandchildren: Caitlin and Alexander; her siblings: Catherine MacKinnon (Gould), Dawn McLean (Raymond), Frank (Roseanne), Wally (Sandi); her brothers-in-laws: Peter Maltby (Joan), David Maltby, John Maltby and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
It was a long hard battle for her since she lost the love of her life in 2016. Life after that was a constant battle and one, she faced with the greatest courage.
She had some amazing care over the years, but the family owes a huge debt of gratitude to her home care worker and partner in crime Edith, who took the best care of mom and always kept her in good spirits. Thank you, Edith, for everything, you are now an honorary member of our family.
Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions we are not able to gather and honor her properly, so a grand gathering will be held when we are able.
Donations in memory of Heather may made to the Cancer Society or The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada in her name would be appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Mom, you will be forever missed and eternally loved.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Heather Maltby 2021..
