HASEBE Joe August 9 1944 — February 12 2021

HASEBE, Joe
August 9, 1944 — February 12, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved uncle and brother Joe Hasebe who passed away on February 12, 2021, during a brief stay at Kelowna General Hospital after a fall a few weeks earlier. Joe was born in Kaslo, BC on August 9, 1944, and lived his entire life in Midway where he worked at the Pope and Talbot Sawmill for over 30 years. Joe was known for his extensive Christmas light displays he would put on the for the neighbourhood every year until declining health. He had a great love of sports. He curled for many years at the Midway and Grand Forks Curling Clubs, and he was a fixture at local softball tournaments and hockey games enthusiastically cheering on family and friends. He was easy going; a kind and generous soul who would help anybody who needed it. Joe was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
Joe was predeceased by his father Aizo (1959), his nephew Keith (1993), his mother Miyuki (1994), his sister Miyo (2011) and his brother Husso (2018).
He is survived by his sister Yuko, his brother Hiro (Kaz) and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no service. Koden gratefully declined. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos, or share a memory please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of HASEBE Joe August 9 1944 — February 12 2021..
