Carter, Harriet Manore
Peacefully surrounded by her family on November 30th at the Juravinski Hospital, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late John Carter. Loving mother to Lynn Powell, Scott Carter and the late Brian Carter (Barb). Treasured, Grandmother to Clarissa (Eugene), Johnathan and Courtney. Great Grandmother (GG) to David, Mason and Brooke. Harriet was an artist who received numerous awards of recognition for her many years as a still life artist. Harriet was a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour and the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and the Ontario Society of Artists. Many private and corporate collections, including the Royal Art Gallery include her works. It was solitary work and she was happiest when creating. Harriet enjoyed her time spent with her beloved John at their cottage in Holland Centre where they would work around their cottage, go to auctions and visit the many friends they had. Family would like to thank the Dr’s and Nurses at the Juravinski for their compassion and care. At Harriet’s request, cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Wednesday, December 8th from 9:30am-10:45am followed by a service in the chapel shortly after. Internment will occur in Grand Bend at a later date. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, anyone in attendance must RSVP either on the website at www.dermodys.com or by phoning 905-388-4141. All in attendance must wear a mask and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
