Harold Lewis Parker 19472021

Harold Lewis Parker
1947-2021
Harold Lewis Parker, 73, of Stoney
Creek passed away peacefully on May 21st, 2021 at The Moncton Hospital
with his loving family by his side, after a courageous 21-year battle
with Multiple Myeloma.
Harold was born in Moncton on Sept.
23rd, 1947 to the late Lewis Parker and Beulah (Anketell) Parker of
Stoney Creek, NB.
Harold was a hard worker and was a
Machinist for CNR, retiring after 38-years of service. He was a
life-long member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church. He helped
with maintenance of the Stoney Creek Cemetery until he was unable,
mowing the lawn and looking after the grounds. He was a very
giving man and proved this by years of donating blood, 75 pints in his
life-time! In the past, he volunteered as a Beaver and Scout
Troop leader; as members of the Riverview X-Country Ski
Club, of which Ron and Jana were on the Ski Team, Harold helped in
setting track and grooming the trails.
Harold enjoyed working in the woods
with his Dad. He was an avid reader, loved Tom Clancy, Clive
Cussler and anything historical. He and Donna travelled
extensively over their 51-years of marriage, taking many motorcycle
trips, cruises (which he loved) and trips to England, Scotland and
France. He was a faithful NASCAR fan and rooted for #2 –
Rusty Wallace, who he met on one of their cruises. He
enjoyed woodworking; he made bowls for all of his family and
friends. He loved old black and white movies, old country
classic music, classic gospel music and John Prine. He loved Albert
County and took many photographs of it’s nature.
Harold was a member of the Tim Horton’s
Club and rarely missed a day going for his tea with the boys, where
they would solve all the world’s problems. He enjoyed riding
his motorcycle and especially going on road trips with his biker
buddies Cousin Gordon Parker, Scott McConnell, Wayne Rogers
(deceased), Brian Fawcett (deceased) and Bernie Alcorn. They
had so many stories to tell on their return!
Harold loved living in Stoney Creek
where he and Donna built their own house next to his parents, so he
was able to be there when needed and he took such great care of his
Mum after his Dad passed. Family meant everything to him and
he was a caring husband, father and grandfather. His
grandchildren were the apple of his eye and he was so proud of
them! He loved telling stories and could spin a tale like no
other and had a great sense of humor. He was blessed to have some
life-long friends and they were very close. Harold was one
of the good ones and will be remembered for his caring ways. Although
he would never admit to it, he was just and old
softie! He would not want a lot of tears, but instead to
think of happy times and would want his friends to support his family
and look after them as he would.
He will be deeply missed by his mother,
Beulah Parker; wife and best friend, Donna Parker; his children, Ron
Parker (Gina) and Jana Parker of Moncton; his precious grandsons, Trey
and Callen; sisters, Diane (Ab) Miles of Grand Lake and Patricia
“Patsy” Parker of Dawson Settlement; sister-in-law, Sandi
(Ron) Rain of Caissie Cape. He will also be missed by his
good friend and cousin, Gordon Parker; special nephew, who Harold was
so proud of, David Barkhouse, who is presently serving his country in
Latvia, but who still kept in touch and called whenever he could to
check to see how he was doing; by his life-long friend Bill Balser Jr;
best friends, Barry and Bev Campbell, Lower Newcastle, along with
several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Harold was predeceased by his father,
Lewis Parker; infant brother, Rodney; in-laws, Gerry and Ada Herman
and special uncle, Donnie Parker (Doreen).
Honouring Harold’s own wishes there will be no
visitation. Due to COVID a
Private Family Service and Celebration of his life will be held at the
Albert County Funeral Home by Invitation only. ( NO TIES ALLOWED, this
was Harold’s request.) The service will be published on the
Albert County Funeral Home youtube channel and facebook page
following the service. Interment will be in
the Stoney Creek
Cemetery, Stoney Creek,
NB.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Moncton Multiple Myeloma Foundation,
Friends of The Moncton Hospital
( Oncology Unit), Doctors Ride for Cancer or the Stoney Creek
Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral
Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB, E4H-3K2
