Obituary
Dad was born in the family farmhouse in the Good Hope community and attended school there with his six siblings. He loved growing up on the farm with his large family and toiling hard in the fields with a team of horses. He started trucking in 1952 for Richard Pollock, hauling logs from Edmonton to Golden and working with his best friend Ken Kaiser.
Dad met the love of his life, Verna Henkel, in 1960 at an event at the Duffield church and were married June 24, 1961. They started farming and began a family not far from the homestead. In the early 70’s they moved to Athabasca, Alberta to continue farming and carve out a new life. Dad was a quiet gentle Christian man who loved being surrounded
by family.
Dad is survived by his children: Gayle (Doug ) Radke, Wade, (Stacy) Frey, Patricia (Robert) Przybylski, Corrie (Heather) Frey, Brandi Frey (Walter Laroche); Grandchildren: Matthew (Gillian) Radke, Melissa Radke, Jennifer Frey, Valerie Frey, Leanne Frey (Daniel Paul-Bohach), Kyle Frey, Justin Przybylski, Morgan Przybylski, Tylin (Harley) Peters, Kara (Corbin) de Kluyver, Payden Frey, Charissa Frey, Shayla Frey, Tyrus Cardinal, Hunter Frey, Thunder Frey and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Vernon (Evelyn) Frey, Douglas Frey, Diane (Ray) Schepp, and
sister-in law Ilene Henkel.
Dad was predeceased by his wife: Verna; parents: Leon and Edith Frey; sisters: Doris Strauss, Norma Johnston and
Lorraine Lamoureux.
Thank you to Pastor Al, Jeannette and the members of the Athabasca Reform Church for your kind support and care for Dad over the years. If so desired, donations may be made to this church in honor of Dad.
